Co.Co.War Selected Case 🇩🇪🌍
The Flak Towers of Hamburg, especially the iconic Flakturm IV in St. Pauli, stand as massive remnants of WWII's architectural and ideological legacy. Built in 1942–43 using forced labor, these bunkers sheltered thousands during Allied bombings while serving as Nazi anti-aircraft fortifications.
Their imposing structure and difficult past have long challenged public perception, embodying a clear case of dissonant heritage. While postwar demolition proved nearly impossible, Hamburg has since reimagined these towers’ roles in society.
Today, through adaptive reuse, Flakturm IV is being transformed into a vibrant cultural and commercial space, where memory, resilience, and urban life intersect. 🌿🏗️

🔬 Experimental Labs – Predappio
From June 9–14, 2025, students from three Italian universities will gather in Predappio for an intensive workshop at the Former House of the Fascist Party. As part of the Co.Co.War project, this lab will explore new ways to understand, conserve, and communicate the site’s complex legacy through critical reflection and collaborative design. 🏛️
